Our Mission

We are not here to fix children.

The BOGAN Foundation exists because too many children are being told they are behind when what they really are is brilliant, different, and creative. Wired for the future in ways traditional systems are not yet built to recognize.

BOGAN fills that gap. We build the literacy foundations, advocacy tools, and tech skills neurodivergent youth need to go as far as their gifts will take them.

The story behind BOGAN Foundation and why this work matters.

Our Story

Why BOGAN
exists.

BOGAN Foundation was built by a mother who personally navigated raising a child with learning differences and understands how overwhelming that journey can feel. Our founder sat in the meetings, asked the hard questions, searched for the right resources, and learned firsthand what it takes to make sure a child gets the support they deserve.

Through direct work in schools, the same pattern emerged again and again. Brilliant children were being overlooked, and parents were often unsure where to turn. That experience revealed something important: families do not just need information. They need someone who understands, someone who can guide them, and a community that helps them move forward.

BOGAN Foundation was created to fill that gap. We exist to support neurodivergent youth and their families through Literacy, Advocacy, and STEM, making sure children are seen for their potential and families never have to navigate the journey alone.

The Founder’s Story

It started with my son.

When my son was diagnosed at five years old, I thought the hardest part would be getting him the support he needed. I was wrong.

The school gave us paperwork, evaluations, and recommendations, but no one ever sat down and explained what any of it actually meant. I didn’t know how to use an IEP, what accommodations my son was entitled to, or how to advocate for him with confidence. I spent years researching, asking questions, learning from professionals, and figuring out what actually helped him thrive.

Along the way, I realized I wasn’t the only parent feeling overwhelmed. I met other families who had the same questions I once had: What does this evaluation mean? What should I ask at the next IEP meeting? Where do I even start?

That’s why I founded BOGAN Foundation. We exist because families shouldn’t have to spend years piecing together information that should have been explained from the beginning. Our goal is to help neurodivergent youth succeed by equipping the people who support them most, their families, with practical guidance, evidence-informed literacy and STEM programming, and advocacy tools they can use with confidence.

BOGAN Foundation Seats Founding Board of Directors

BOGAN Foundation has formally seated its founding Board of Directors, bringing together leaders in strategy, finance, operations, education, and community engagement to guide the organization’s growth. The board is joined by an Advisory Board including leadership in education and nonprofit practice. Together, the board has adopted the Foundation’s governing bylaws, conflict of interest policy, and child protection framework.

Fall 2026 STEM Cohort: Enrollment Opens in August

This fall, BOGAN Foundation is launching its first enrolled cohort: a 10-week STEM program for neurodivergent youth in the Fort Worth area, ending in a family showcase where every participant presents what they built. Space is limited, and enrollment opens in August through our secure family intake portal.

Who We Are

BOGAN Foundation ("BOGAN," "we," "us") is a Fort Worth, Texas nonprofit organization serving neurodivergent youth and their families through literacy, advocacy, and STEM programming. BOGAN Foundation operates under fiscal sponsorship by Independence Heights Community Development Corporation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information collected through this website and our secure family intake portal at intake.boganfoundation.org.

Information We Collect

We collect information you choose to provide to us, including: contact information (name, email, phone) submitted through our contact, volunteer, and sponsor forms; family and program information submitted by parents or guardians through our secure intake portal, which may include a child’s name, age, school information, and learning support needs; and donation information processed by our payment provider. We do not collect information directly from children, and this website is not directed at children under 13. All program information about a child is provided by that child’s parent or legal guardian.

How We Use Information

We use the information you provide to respond to inquiries, enroll and serve families in our programs, coordinate volunteers and sponsors, process donations through our fiscal sponsor, and send updates you have requested. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We never use a child’s information for marketing.

How Information Is Protected

Family intake information is submitted through a secured portal, stored in an encrypted database, and protected by two-factor authentication. Access is restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis. Photographs and stories of program participants are used only with a signed Photo & Media Consent form, which families may withdraw at any time by contacting us.

When We Share Information

We share information only as needed to operate: with our fiscal sponsor for donation processing and receipting; with service providers that help us run our website, forms, database, and payment processing, who are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us; and when required by law or to protect the safety of a child, consistent with our child protection policies and mandatory reporting obligations.

Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, to meet legal and grant reporting requirements, and to maintain accurate program records. You may request deletion of your information as described below.

Your Choices and Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, withdraw photo or media consent, or unsubscribe from communications at any time by emailing info@boganfoundation.org or calling 817-677-8223. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and honor verified requests to the extent permitted by law.

Cookies and Third-Party Links

Our website uses minimal cookies and similar technologies, including those set by our payment and form providers, to operate properly. Our site contains links to third-party sites (such as our donation page and partner organizations) whose privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
